185 apartments, exclusively for rent | Shops and leisure | 1,691-space car park

Sandwell is a borough of opportunity. The construction of the new Midland Metropolitan Hospital will stimulate the regeneration of Smethwick and developer MHBL is seeking to support and compliment the area’s ambitious growth plans.

Investing £60 million, MHBL’s ambition is to transform an area of brownfield land – adjacent to Grove Lane and London Street – which can deliver 185 Build-to-Rent apartments, new shops and leisure opportunities , and a 1,691-space multi-storey car park

The proposals aim to provide much needed new housing which will benefit the local community including key workers such as nurses and doctors. Built exclusively for rent, the new homes will provide high-quality accommodation – including 20% affordable homes – which combine the flexibility of renting and the security of owning your own home. Ideal for young professionals.

The attractive multi-storey car park will provide additional capacity for staff, patients and visitors which will take pressure off both the hospital’s proposed facilities and nearby residential streets. The shops and leisure facilities will also support staff and visitors to the hospital, alongside the growing community. This is an area of Sandwell that is undergoing significant regeneration and this important investment will help build a sustainable community.

A planning application has been submitted to Sandwell Council, following detailed discussions with the local authority. A decision is expected in the coming months.
